Questioning the workspace for the future – Our 2021 panel discussion expanded on and delved into the subject discussed during last year’s webinar titled “Rethinking the workspace” moderated by Alessio Antoniolli (Director of Gasworks, London). This year in collaboration with guest curator Katerina Nikolaou Open Space invited internationally acclaimed cultural institutions and artist residencies to share their views and thoughts on how they imagine their future.
I Have Eaten It: Communal Meal – (11 June 2020) Open Space organised its first Communal meal on Zoom, hosted by founding director Huma Kabakci alongside artist Laura Wilson. At the table, we were joined by Gareth Bell-Jones curator / director of Flat Time House and artist Moza Almatrooshi, with the discussion chaired by writer and journalist Ellen Mara De Wachter.
Rethinking the work space – (14 May 2020, 6.30-8pm) a Zoom panel discussion, which explored the future of artist and curatorial residencies. Moderated by Alessio Antoniolli (Director of Gasworks & Triangle Network) the talk included speakers Aaron Cezar (Director of Delfina Foundation), Işıl Eğrikavuk (Artist and Academician based in Berlin), Lauren Godfrey (Artist based in London) and Kirsty Ogg (Director of New Contemporaries).

12th October 2024, 10:00 AM – Continuing and Beginning a Legacy – The Pursuit of Today’s Young Collectors at Frieze Art Fair A panel discussion at Frieze, moderated by Nate Freeman from Condé Nast. Alongside Brian Yue and Will Palley, the talk explored the evolving roles of young collectors and the new generation of directors and owners who have inherited family-built collections and foundations.

28th April 2021, 6 – 7:30 pm BST, Zoom organised by Open Space – Questioning the workspace for the future Moderated by Huma Kabakci and Katerina Nikolaou with speakers Çelenk Bafra (Curator, Director of SAHA), Marily Konstantinopoulou (Co-founder & Program Director of Artworks), Dimitra Nikolou (Co-founder & Program Director of Artworks), Augustus Veinoglou (Founder of Shnehta Residency) and Gillean Dickie (Director of Operations at Delfina Foundation).
17 March 2021, Zoom organised by London Drawing Group – Drawing Outside the Lines: A Conversation Moderated by independent curator Huma Kabakci with artists Ingrid Berthon-Moine, Phoebe Boswell and Radhika Khimji.
22 February 2021, 6 – 7:30 pm GMT, Clubhouse organised by Open Space – Food as a Medium: an exploration and in conversation Moderated by Huma Kabakci with multidisciplinary artists Imogen Kwok, Inês Neto dos Santos, Nora Silva and Laura Wilson.
