With over a decade of experience across curating, writing, and organising events, I offer tailored services that bring ideas to life – from immersive exhibitions to mentoring sessions that empower emerging voices in the art world.

With over 10 years of professional experience, I bring a comprehensive approach to contemporary art practice that encompasses curating, project management, writing, strategic planning, mentoring and lecturing.

My work spans collection management, public programming, and the creation of immersive experiences that blur the boundaries between art, design, anthropology, and food.

As both curator and advisor, I specialise in supporting multi-disciplinary practitioners, institutions, galleries and collectors through bespoke consultancy services, while also developing innovative exhibitions and site-specific installations that explore food as a medium within contemporary art.

I had the pleasure of working with Huma on various occasions, most notably collaborating as co-curators on the exhibition Tender Touches, which formed part of the 2019 programme of Huma's organisation Open Space. Huma showed terrific resilience and trust in our work together, and made sure my voice and ideas were well heard in our collaboration.

Through her hard work we created an exciting, unusual and innovative show in Peckham, London, which featured across a plethora of media outlets such as Vogue, Frieze Magazine, Time Out and plenty of others. It's been a pleasure to collaborate with Huma ever since, she always delivers on what she promises and makes sure any artist's work she is engaged in is generously represented.

I had the pleasure of working with Huma at the end of last year. Jade Turanli (Director of Pi Artworks) and I employed Huma for our collaborative presentation of Holly Stevenson’s installation at Frieze Sculpture 2023.

Huma was taken on in the capacity of Performance Coordinator. She had an excellent relationship with the artist throughout the project and communicated very clearly. She worked hard to make the performances a great success.

Huma liaised with publishers, designers, suppliers, and the general public exceptionally well, and it is with my wholehearted recommendation that I hope she will be successful for anyone who is considering her as a candidate.I believe she would be an asset to any institution or professional collaborating with her.

We organised the "Memory and Continuity: A Selection from the Huma Kabakci Collection" exhibition at Suna and Inan Kirac Foundation Pera Museum in 2016.

The Huma Kabakci Collection (now NHK Collection), initiated by her late father Nahit Kabakci in the 1980s, is one of the few consciously created and well-maintained collections in Turkey.

The exhibition, co-curated by Huma Kabakci and Esra Alicavusoglu aimed to demonstrate the collection's periodically renewed and expanded structure with a certain art historical objectivity, based on specific logic, development, and subjectivity.

In addition to showcasing the contributions of two different generations to the collection, this selection also emphasised the internal consistency and transformation of the collection as a whole.

Looking back, our collaboration was extremely fruitful and successful.

I had the pleasure to work with Huma in the second half of 2023 for my gallery’s first ever collaborative exhibition, Hold Me Now.

As a gallery that places emphasis on exhibition curation, storytelling, and building long term relationships, the decision to work with a guest curator was a significant one.

Having known Huma for a number of years, I invited her to curate this exhibition as I knew her curatorial interests as well as her personal and professional values were aligned with the gallery’s ethos and the direction of the programme but, most importantly, because I knew she puts herself 100% behind the projects she supports.

Hold Me Now was all about people and care and Huma personified that in her approach with the artists, the works, the general public and all the stakeholders involved in putting together a successful exhibition.

Our collaboration was effortless, I wouldn’t hesitate to work with her again, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone considering her services.
